Mercedes-Benz USA has appointed Greg Gates as Vice President of Network Development effective September 2, the company announced on August 18.
He returns to the automaker after leaving in June 2018 as Vice President of Business Transformation at Swickard Auto Group, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Adam Chamberlain, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA, stated that Gates’ automotive experience will further enhance the automaker’s dealer network and overall customer experience.
“Our extensive retail network is a critical component and a catalyst for our success,” Chamberlain said.
Gates’ first role at Mercedes-Benz was in 1999 at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services. He held numerous leadership positions at the automaker until 2018, helping manage the dealer network to maintain years of leadership in luxury vehicle sales.
Since November 2023, Gates worked at HR consulting firm RockED, serving as Chief Operating Officer since November 2024.
Gates succeeds Frank Diertl, who retired from Mercedes-Benz on July 4, 2025, and will be based at Mercedes-Benz’s North American headquarters in Atlanta.
